I enjoy helping business owners and entrepreneurs, mostly because I am one. I appreciate the determination it takes to build something great out of just an idea. Your challenges are different than mine but we’ve all had to overcome obstacles. One thing business owners have in common is determination.

It takes years before the germ of a great idea can grow into a reality. If you’re lucky, that might be four or five years. Usually, the REAL payoff comes much later – maybe even decades later. Things don’t always work out as planned, but that’s the beauty of determination. But, stubborn determination tends to be long term unsustainable.

Determined but not stubborn. What’s the difference? After a life of entrepreneurship and 20 years in the trenches with clients, I’d say this. You should believe strongly in where you’re going but always be ready to adjust to the present. That means being focused, data driven and strategic about how you respond.
